زلزال 6.2 درجة يضرب منطقة جنوبي ناليهو بجزيرة هاواي

(رويترز) – قالت هيئة المسح الجيولوجي الأمريكية إن زلزالا بشدة 6.2 درجة ضرب منطقة جنوبي جزيرة هاواي يوم الأحد، لكن لم يكن هناك تحذير من أمواج مد عاتية (تسونامي) بعده ولم ترد تقارير فورية عن وقوع أضرار.

وقالت الهيئة في تقرير محدث إن الزلزال كان على عمق 37 كيلومترا وكان مركزه جنوبي ناليهو.

كانت الهيئة قد ذكرت في البداية أن شدة الزلزال 6.1 درجة، لكنها رفعتها لاحقا إلى 6.2 درجة. ويمكن لزلازل بهذه القوة أن تسبب أضرارا بالغة.

وقال نظام التحذير من أمواج المد العاتية (تسونامي) الأمريكي إنه ليس هناك تحذير بعد الزلزال.
