بايدن يعيد ترشيح جيروم باول كرئيس لمجلس الاحتياطي الاتحادي

واشنطن (رويترز) – أعاد الرئيس الأمريكي جو بايدن يوم الاثنين ترشيح جيروم باول لفترة ثانية في منصب رئيس مجلس الاحتياطي الاتحادي، قائلا إنه يريد استقرار واستقلال البنك المركزي.

وفي كلمة ألقاها في البيت الأبيض، أشار بايدن إلى قيادة باول الحاسمة والراسخة كعامل مهم في قراره إعادة ترشيحه.

وقال إن هناك حاجة إلى الحفاظ على ثقة الشعب الأمريكي في مجلس الاحتياطي الاتحادي.

وقال أيضا إنه يجب على مجلس الاحتياطي الاتحادي أن يقود البنوك المركزية حول العالم في التصدي للمخاطر المالية المرتبطة بالمناخ.
